Commerce Department Calls for Refrigeration Duties

Hot off the press!

US-DeptOfCommerce-Seal.svgOn Friday January 22, 2016, The U.S. Department of Commerce called for a first round of duties ranging up to 210% on imports of Chinese refrigerants after determining that the items were being sold in the U.S. at below fair market pricing.

R410A supplies may be spotty for the first half of the year since a large portion of the R410A supply comes from imports and many importers have delayed placing stocking orders until the initial determination was published.

Commerce is currently slated to finalize its dumping margins on June 13, and the ITC will make its final damages ruling on July 28.
